Most small companies don't need an HR department. They need what an HR department does, and someone certified doing it, rather than an office manager improvising between everything else.
That's what this is. Not advice about your HR. Your HR, run by a certified senior HR professional. Sometimes called fractional HR, except you're getting the whole department rather than a slice of an executive.
How it works
Start with an audit. $495. A structured review of where your HR function is exposed, ranked by what each gap would cost you. You get findings and a plan. What you do with them is up to you, and there's no obligation to do it with us.
Then a flat monthly fee, if it makes sense. Ongoing HR: the day-to-day work, plus getting you caught up on whatever the audit found. From $1,500 a month.
It is not a retainer. You are not buying a block of hours that ticks down, and there is no meter running when you call. That matters more than it sounds. The value of having a certified HR professional available is that you actually call her, and nobody calls a meter.
Recruiting, when you need it. Priced separately, for companies we already work with. See why →
What's included in the monthly
HR Compliance → Federal and Florida obligations, multi-state exposure, and documentation that holds up when someone asks.
Employee Handbooks → Written, maintained, and kept current, for every state where you actually employ people.
Employee Relations → Investigations, documentation, discipline, terminations, unemployment claims. We conduct them. We don't coach you through them.
Compensation → Classification, pay structure, benchmarking, pay equity, tipped-wage arithmetic.
HR Audit → Where every engagement starts.
Also part of the work
Organizational structure and workforce planning · performance appraisal systems · training and development · employee benefits administration · employee recognition · change management · job descriptions · onboarding · manager coaching.
Not everything needs its own page. If it's HR, it's in scope.
The one thing we don't do
We don't process payroll. We have partners for that, and we'll train your people to run it in-house if you'd rather.
What we do is make sure it's right: that your classifications hold up, your overtime is calculated correctly, your tipped-wage arithmetic works, and the rate changes on time when Florida's minimum wage moves on September 30. Payroll processing is a button. Payroll being correct is an HR problem.
Who this is for
Companies with roughly 10 to 150 employees that have outgrown running HR on instinct, but aren't ready to pay a certified HR professional six figures plus benefits to sit in one chair.
